Pump it Up

For the second year in a row, Kennards Hire has been recognised as Aussie Pumps ‘Hire Company of the Year’. 

The award is presented by Aussie Pumps to a major supplier of the rental industry and recognises hire companies for innovation, presentation and overall professionalism.

Aussie Pumps Chief Engineer, John Hales said, “We’ve seen Kennards Hire make major advances in the last financial year, not only with the opening of new branches but in stimulating the market for rental opportunities.” 

“With the big box stores continuing to have an impact on rental activity, innovative hire opportunities have to be developed to provide differentiation between a rental product and a hardware level cheapie”, he said.

Kennards Hire were the first major hire company to enter the drain cleaner jetter business. 

“Safety was a big issue for us. We wanted to make sure that the Aussie machines complied with all the standards and did not require specialist operator certification to do the job well and safely”, said Andy Kennard, son of founder Walter Kennard and father to current CEO, Angus Kennard. 

Kennards Hire now operate over 170 hire branches across Australia and New Zealand.  They held their 70th anniversary this year, celebrating the partnership with key suppliers such as Australian Pump Industries.  Kennards Hire success relates to their passion for supplying top quality equipment to renters. Introducing new ideas like the Aussie drain cleaning jetter to the fleet provides new services to its customers.

Hales praised Kennards Hire for the consistent high quality approach to customer service, safety and presentation.  “The hire and rental industry in Australia owes a lot of its first class image to the Kennards Hire organisation’s ability to make renting more attractive than acquisition”, he said.
