    DIY bathroom on a budget

Like any renovation project, it is important to implement a strict budget to ensure your DIY job doesn’t leave a hole in your pocket.

Kitchen and bathroom DIY projects can be the most expensive of home reno's, particularly if you start moving outlets and pipes - where possible, keep these where they are.

However, you can overhaul your bathroom, giving it a fresh new look without breaking the budget!

The most important consideration to keep in mind during your bathroom planning process is whether your reno wish list is realistic.

Instead of overhauling every facet of the room, why not keep your jobs small-scale? Giving the bathroom a fresh coat of paint in a fashionable colour - try pale yellow or an azure blue for a shade that will pop - will make a huge difference.

If retiling the room isn't realistic in your budget, it may be a good idea to focus on livening up the room's fittings. Accessories add interest in small spaces, and the best thing is they don't cost an exorbitant amount of cash.

Replacing the curtains, door handles and shower fittings are all effective ways to spruce up a bathroom. And vanities, towel rails, shaving cabinets, shelves and taps can all be installed relatively easily as long as you have a drill and a bit of know-how.
